The Brooklyn Boys 7th Grade team’s (2-2) late rally fell short in a 28-24 loss at Cuyahoga Heights.
The Hurricanes got out to a quick start, scoring the game’s first five points and the Canes led 8-1 after one quarter. Cuyahoga Heights stormed back in the second quarter, and a buzzer beating jumper gave them their first lead of the game at 13-12 going to the halftime break.
The start of the second half was more Cuyahoga Heights as they opened up a 19-14 lead through three quarters. Trailing by eight with 1:10 to play, Brooklyn converted a pair of quick layups to get within four, but were unable to secure possession of the ball in the final 30 seconds.
