The Brooklyn Boys 7th Grade team (2-1) was competitive early but struggled in the middle quarters of a 48-22 loss to Grand Valley.
It was a back and forth contest early with the score tied at 9-9 before Grand Valley made three free throws in the final second of the first quarter to take a 12-9 edge. Grand Valley extended its lead to 22-13 at halftime of a still competitive game.
The third quarter was the turning point, as Grand Valley opened the half on a 10-2 run that Brooklyn was never able to recover from.
