The Brooklyn Boys 8th Grade team (7-5) fell to Cuyahoga Heights in a game that was close throughout, 40-34.
The game got off to a slow start with both teams struggling to find rhythm. Cuyahoga Heights led 5-3 after one quarter.
That completely flipped in the second quarter where the teams traded baskets back and forth in the highest scoring quarter of the game. On the strength of three three-pointers, the Canes took a 19-17 edge into the half.
The third quarter remained close with the teams tied at 27-27 entering the fourth.
The fourth quarter was defined by Cuyahoga Heights working for strong shot attempts and converting them as the Canes fell behind early in the period and were unable to recover.
