The Brooklyn Hurricanes close the regular season with a win against Trinity. The Hurricanes came out energized in the 1st quarter playing solid defense. Forcing turnovers and finishing in transition paced the Hurricanes through the first half. Offensive rebounds and second chance points kept the Trojans within 10 entering halftime. Determined, Brooklyn came out in the 3rd quarter and did not let up. Multiple changes to the defense in the 3rd quarter kept Trinity playing catch up. As time was winding down, the seniors finished the game enjoying their last moments on their home court.
Freshman Jaiden Basinger led the Hurricanes scoring effort with a game high 26 points. Sophomore Maceo Pytel added 18 points with freshman Calvin Gore adding 15 points. Senior Tristan Peggs scored all 7 of his points in the 4th quarter. Sophomore Tyler Elzholz added 3 points and senior Elliot Loy added the final point of the game.

Brooklyn finishes the regular season at 4-18, ending the season on it’s first win streak in at least 5 years. The Hurricanes will look to carry this momentum into their tournament game on Tuesday at Warrensville Heights. Tipoff is scheduled for 7pm.
