The Brooklyn Boys 7th Grade team (3-5) was able to use a hot start to propel the Hurricanes to a 32-22 home victory over Berkshire.
The Hurricanes got out to a quick 10-2 lead with four different Brooklyn players scoring in the run, and they led 10-4 after one quarter. The Canes extended their advantage in the second quarter, taking a 21-11 edge into the half.
The third quarter was the highest scoring of the game, with Berkshire winning the quarter narrowly, 11-10, as the Canes maintained a solid 31-22 edge going to the fourth period.
The game turned into a massive defensive contest in the final period with the only scoring in the quarter coming on a Brooklyn free throw midway through the quarter.
