In a game where Brooklyn Boys 8th Grade team (4-1) went on a massive 35-3 run, the Hurricanes earned their largest victory of the season, 40-21, over Grand Valley.
The Hurricanes started off slow, falling behind 7-0 in the first 2 minutes of the game. Following a timeout, Brooklyn quickly regrouped, shoring up its defense that would go on to dominant the next three quarters of the game.
The Hurricanes held Grand Valley scoreless the next nine minutes, opening up a 10-7 advantage after one quarter and a 17-10 edge at halftime.
The defensive effort did not let up for Brooklyn coming out of halftime as the Canes did not allow another point until early in the fourth quarter. The Hurricanes led 33-10 after the third period and 35-10 early in the fourth, their largest lead of the victory.
In a complete team effort, eight Brooklyn players scored in the victory.
